Batsheva Nagel

Founder/Director

Batsheva Nagel has been an integral part of Vermont Pioneers Camp for twelve years. She is excited to bring the Jewish outdoor camping experience to young women. Batsheva is a graphic designer, artist and mother of four. Batsheva is passionate about helping teenagers find a deeper sense of identity through the arts and the outdoors.

RUS PERLMAN

Administrative Director

Rus Pearlman has spent over thirty years involved in the camping world. Her favorite camp role was sailing staff at the age of 16, but she is sure Director of Chavaya will come a very close second!

Rus currently lives with her family in Burlington, VT.

ariella ruderman

Mechaneches/Learning Director

Ariella is a teacher, speech pathologist, mother to five incredible children and spiritual guide!
She is the wife of Rabbi David Ruderman, a chaplain in the U.S army and has lived all over the world, adding to every community in a unique and inspiring way.

Chaya Katsenelenbogen

Farm Manager & Assistant Director

Chavaya Vermont is excited to welcome back Chaya! Chaya's love for farming and incredible work ethic is an invaluable asset to our program. Chaya leads the garden and animal care portion of our program as well as helping to manage daily chores. We look forward to another incredible summer.

Eden levi

Martial Arts & Learning Instructor

Hey! I am Eden Levi, 19 from Arizona. This summer, Godwilling, I will be teaching martial arts, and Torah, leading a davening group, and helping out on trips! I am super excited for many reasons! First of all, I love Torah!! I love learning, sharing, discussing, and pretty much everything to do with Torah! I can’t wait to share this passion with others! Plus, I really value martial arts and movement. I earned my 3rd degree black belt, and I am certified personal trainer. I am really looking forward to empowering other girls with these skills. But mostly, I am really looking forward to meeting and bonding with so many of my Jewish sisters! I can’t wait!

Nechama Margolin

Photographer & Learning Director

Hi! I'm Nechama Margolin from Los Angeles. I'm returning to camp this year as a photographer and learning teacher.

I love exploring the outdoors, hiking and traveling. I'm excited to share my passion for photography and nature with the campers. Can't wait for another amazing summer!

Hadassa Shechter

Counselor

Hi my name is Hadassa Shechter.

I live in a small moshav in northern Israel and I'm coming to Vermont this summer especially to be a counselor in Camp Chavaya.

For the past three years I've worked as a staff member at several after school program's with kids of all ages, teaching interactive science .

And another program where we help city kids learn to love and get close to nature in various fun ways.

In my spare time I love to go hiking, camping, and swimming in local natural rivers and lakes.

I'm looking forward to getting to know the campers and teach them and learn from them, and do my best to make sure this is the best summer of their lives.

LIBA POSNER

Hey! I’m Liba Posner from Skokie, IL. I love learning, gymnastics, climbing, camping, and connecting with others. I’m so excited to be back as a counsellor this summer in Vermont.

GOLDA RAPOPORT

Counselor

Hi my name is Golda Rapoport. I live in Detroit MI. I’m so excited to be coming back to Chavaya as a counselor. I love all outdoor activities especially after learning some more skills last year. I enjoy skiing, hiking, and swimming. As well as taking different ceramic classes. Looking forward to another great summer at Chavaya.

Chaya Eber

Hey! I’m Chaya Eber from Trinity Florida. I’m extremely excited to be a counselor in Chavaya Vermont this year. I love being outdoors and in nature. Some of my hobbies are sports, swimming, hicking, and cooking. I love working with kids and am so excited to share my love for nature and my summer with them! Can’t wait for an amazing summer!

HADAR NOYMEIER

Counselor

Hi, my name is Hadar Noymeier, I live in a small settlement in Israel. In my daily life, I guide children in Bnei Akiva, my job there is to convey values ​​to the children's during activities and games. I also volunteer in my spare time at an association for children with cancer.

There is nothing I love more than the combination of sports, art and music, so I chose to come to guide in the camp, to get to know new peoples, to be part of the group, to contribute from my skills and to learn from others.

So I'm excited to part of the team and I'm looking forward to start the camp!!!. It's going to be great adventure, fun and challange. Can't wait to meet you all...
